B1893–POWER LIFTGATE CONTROL CIRCUIT 2 OPEN

• When Monitored:

  Whenever the Power Liftgate is power closing.

• Set Condition:

  When the Power Liftgate Module does not sense current on the (Q89) Liftgate Close Driver circuit and there is no liftgate movement, this code will set. It is also possible for this code to set if the liftgate has been run several times and the internal circuit breaker (Thermo Protection Device) in the drive unit has opened up.

Diagnostic Test

• Go To 2.

• Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
• Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE)

• Go To 3.

• Replace the Power Liftgate Module in accordance with service information.
• Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).

• Repair the (Q89) Liftgate Close Driver circuit for an open.
• Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).

• Go to 4.

• Repair the (Q88) Liftgate Open Driver circuit for an open.
• Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).

• Replace the Power Liftgate Module in accordance with service information.
• Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).
